For those applying to specialized art high schools, such as LaFiorello H. LaGuardia High School, Frank Sinatra, High School of Art&Design, Edward R. Murrow School Art Program.

The applicant needs no prior art experience nor skills in order to register! Our course offers personalized instruction to all students in the course based on their skillset, experience, and intended school/major.

We accept students on a rolling basis, meaning there is no particular deadline to register.
However, we highly encourage students to register as early as possible to secure their spots in our class, as the summer course is in the highest demand among our programs.
Also, please be mindful before registering that the course is active from June to the end of August. You are welcome to choose your own duration and schedule within the course timeframe.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]→ How to register

For students looking to build art portfolios in advance at a standard pace.
Program duration: 6 weeks or less (flexible number of sessions per week).
Duration per session: 4 hours.
The class schedule is customizable.

6 sessions (approx. 1 session per week for 6 weeks)

12 sessions (approx. 2 sessions per week for 6 weeks)
18 sessions (approx. 3 sessions per week for 6 weeks)

Each duration option could include the following for reference. Please keep in mind that all our courses are individualized, so the student can focus on a certain specific area(s) of focus based on their intended major/school.

Drawing
- Drawing is the most integral aspect of not only the applicant’s artistic ability, as well as a portfolio. Explore various ways of creative drawing techniques and skills, such as still-life, figure, portraiture, perspective, etc.
Painting
- Through painting, students explore ways to expand on their concepts and ideas with a focus specifically on different painting mediums and colors.
3D sculpture
- 3D sculpture allows students to take their concepts spatially, reflecting on how to transfer 2D images or abstract thoughts to 3D space in dynamic ways, using various tactile mediums.
Choice of either Fashion or Digital Art/Digital Animation
- Fashion design encompasses the fundamentals to familiarize students with the creative design process. Such subjects may include fashion illustration, garment making & sewing techniques, fabric study, pattern making & draping.
- Digital art and/or digital animation is for anyone with interest in taking their creative process and execution digitally with computer software or electronic devices. From hand to cursor, students will be acquainted with how to utilize various software and programs that can translate their concepts.
Mixed Media
- With various mediums, mixed media work pertains immense potential without limits if combined with the student’s creativity to elaborate on their ideas. When working on a mixed media project, it is important to think about specific mediums, their characteristics, and how they will work in tandem with each other for various visual effects and delivery of messages.
Home Test (wherever applicable; if student’s intended school requires it)
- Some art schools require what is called a home test, or something similar, where the applicant needs to complete an assignment based on the given prompt or theme as outlined by the school. The student needs to respond with what best represents their skills, techniques, or creative thinking as a prospective artist according to the school’s guidelines.

All students enrolled in our Specialized Art High School Prep/ Art Contest Preparation will have automatic access to our seasonal, summer-exclusive special events, including the following:

Art college application and essay workshops for art school admissions process (covers Slideroom, essay, etc)

The official summer program period is 6/7/2022 to 8/27/2022. The course duration may fall anytime within the range but may be adjusted based on the student needs. There are mainly 4 duration options as follows:
